Paradox and Practice-Architecture in the Wake of Conceptualism
Until Saturday, Feb. 10, Fallen Fruit has an installation as part of the group show, ‘Paradox and Practice’: Architecture in the Wake of Conceptualism. The exhibition “re-thinks the legacy of Conceptualism vis-à -vis the philosophical operation of paradox. Specifically, the notion of “site,” as it exists between art and architecture, is reconsidered. Thinking about paradox and conceptualism is no formal exercise; it is a political imperative.†Symbolic Architecture. At the University Art Gallery at UC Irvine. Curated by Juli Carson & Nana Last. “Two large canvases that face each other both depict city hall, except in one, protestors’ faces are missing. This can be interpreted as some sort of message to spectators of this piece to be a part of the Fallen Fruit movement.†-Eugenia Wong
